Variables
Mountain Bluebird
Occurred the most disproportionately in hexagons with April minimum
temperature (hex. avg.) of -5.68 to -2.47 C and a May minimum
temperature (hex. med.) of -1 to 2 C. Almost as likely to occur in
slightly warmer hexagons (April minimum avg. of -2.47 to 0.18 C), if
May minimum temperature (hex. min.) is -4 to 2 C. Also occurred
where April minimum temperature (hex. avg.) is 0.18-1.53 C if
ponderosa pine forest is present, and where April minimum
temperature (hex. avg.) is 1.53-1.69 C. The logistic regression
analysis showed positive or negative association with ponderosa pine
forest, elevation (hex. avg.), the extent of public land, April minimum
temperature (hex. avg.), and-to a lesser degree-barren and
topographic variation.
